Product Description

VERY hard to find jar, this is Dolly from the Family Circus cartoon strip. Her couter part, Billy, is often mistaken for Dennis the Menace. Made by Starnes, Starnes was owned by Sierra Vista, this jar has no chips, no cracks, no hairlines or other damage. There is a curious spot on the underside that looks like either someone tried to drill her out to make a lamp or it was that way from the manufacturer & they changed their mind and decided to keep her as a cookie jar. I’ve put an arrow pointing to the suspect spot. If you rub over it, you can’t really feel it, all you see is the outline of something & the area is solid.  I show a photo both inside the jar and outside. Its barely noticeable being a spot smaller than a dime,  in fact I didn’t notice it right away either. This also helps make this a likely one of a kind jar perhaps as an manufacturer experiment.  This would be a great decor piece in a child’s room. Dolly has ice cream cones all about her dress. She also still has a “Starnes” foil label that you can read! It says “Starnes” located on the cookie jar she’s holding. These old foil lables are very difficult to find intact on these jars, they were rather fragile. They were removed or washed off long ago. This Dolly I don’t believe ever saw any sort of use especially since the foil lable is still intact. Vivid colors & a really fun jar. Great price, too!

This jar comes with a handmade cleaning cloth, too, to help protect the finish on your fine, aging collectables like this fine jar. We make them ourselves with very soft hand woven materials and these will last and last for you not just for this jar  but any fine item like this, china, porcelain silverware, almost anything! Nice thing right now in addition to a free cleaning cloth is … he’s on SALE! Holidays are coming and these jars make great gifts. We can ship them to the anticipated recipient for you & send the tracking information to you so you can follow its journey!
