Enesco: Rudolph & The Island of Misfit Toys Collector Cookie Jar. Signed on the bottom as previously stated. Here’s one for the baby boomers! Remember the animated cartoon back in the 60s, Rudolph with the puppet-like figures? This jar is a replication of the Rudolph in that cartoon! Beautiful, very clean, very crisp colors and quality typical for Enesco jars. No chips, no cracks, just one colorful, wonderful jar. I really think the wreath around his neck is really a beautiful touch! I don’t think he’s ever been used for anything but display. Its already out of production and very quickly climbing the ladder for being a scarce, collectable jar! American Bisque Yogi Bear Collector Cookie Jar
American Bisque: Original Yogi Bear Collector Cookie Jar. Better than the average bear, and also “Better than the average cookie” it says on the sign next to Yogi. He’s quite a large and heavy jar. On the back it says “Hanna Barberra 1961 Productions USA”. Just think of it…1961 doesn’t sound that far away, but in actuality, this jar is going to be 50 years old in 2011! No chips, no cracks but there is one factory flaw. On the inside of the jar running down the backside, again, inside only, is a dark line that appears to have been a stress line about 2 inches long. You cannot feel it. Run your finger over it, it’s smooth like the rest of the inside of the jar. It’s glazed over almost like maybe a hair was caught in the glaze before firing. It does not go thru to the outside back of the jar. It is not visible on the outside of the backside of the jar. I tried to photograph it and I include the 2 photos with the spot circled. This does not interfere with the structural integrity of the jar, nor do I believe it will ever break in this spot. Anyway, he’s still a great jar and priced with this slight factory defect in consideration. Very clean & great color. Baby boomer collector cookie jar for sure! Alice In Wonderland Collector Cookie Jar
Alice In Wonderland Collector Cookie Jar ~ Made in Japan ~ on the jar its says “Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland”. I would say it must have been quite an adventure in Wonderland. Actually, for this jar, I’d title it to say “Alice Stuck in Her House” since she does have the appearance that she’s stuck in the house, legs sticking out on the bottom and head coming out of the roof. This is still a fine, fun, vintage jar. Highly sought after by collectors on all levels! No chips or cracks, but this nice piece does have one small factory flaw that is glazed over, so, its unmistakably a factory flaw. It does not show in the photo since its so small and fine. On one of the underside corners is a fine hairline that was likely caused during firing from stress and the material drying rather quickly as most of these are that have been glazed over. It is definitely glazed over and hardly noticed at all. I do not see it on the inside of the jar so this is a small issue on the outside glaze, only. A small amount of cold paint is also missing from her bow. Otherwise, the jar is in excellent original condition. Vandor I Dream of Jeannie Collector Cookie Jar. This one is # 1443 of 3600 jars made (low number). This is a limited edition jar made exclusively by Vandor to commemorate a baby-boomer TV series with Barbara Eden, I Dream of Jeannie. Jar is mint condition, no chips, no cracks. Look at the photos closely, this is one very interesting jar! Jeannie is INSIDE the base when you remove the lid, you see her sitting in her “bottle” since this is shaped after her bottle that was her “home” on the TV show. Ingenious concept and design! Great color, great detail! Fun & interesting jar. No longer in production. Very quickly climbing the ladder of interest and price! Getting difficult to find, now.
