Cardinal China Co Sad Clown Collector Cookie Jar. For all the clown collectors and clown lovers, here’s a great, very heavy & solid jar, Cardinal China’s Sad Clown rendition. This is an nice, old vintage jar! Excellent condition, no chips, no cracks. This jar does have some cookie grease that shows inside and outside on the bottom of the jar. Does not take away from value but certainly adds to the charm of this vintage jar. Written on his hat it says "I want some cookies!" as he cries and shows his frown. American Bisque [ABC] Clown Collector Cookie Jar
American Bisque (ABC): Circus Clown made in 1959…..the year "the music died" when Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens and the Big Bopper went down in the plane crash in Iowa. This jar probably heard that message come over the radio! This is about the best example of this colorful jar that I’ve seen in a VERY long time. Super nice, very clean condition. No chips, no cracks very minimal crazing. No cookie grease, no dark crazing lines inside or outside the jar. Most likely it was just a shelf sitter all these years! Incredibly, he retains most of his ORIGINAL cold-paint, too! Marked USA on the underside, and it has all the right marks elsewhere too….look inside the jar and you’ll find the "chop marks" to identify the authenticity, the initials of the maker of this particular jar who worked for American Bisque. Brush Vintage Happy Clown Collector Cookie Jar
Brush: Happy Clown Marked on the underside "W22 Brush USA". This is NOT a reproduction but he IS one of the cleanest & most colorful examples of this particular jar that I have ever seen. Very strong colors, great distinctive details. I really like the detail of the patch on the back of his trousers….see the stitching in the photo? No chips, no cracks & very minimal crazing. If you look at the photo showing the underside of the lid, there is an "extra" pottery chip that was stuck there during the firing process. Its just there stuck to the side of the inside part of the lid next to a spot that has thin material, possibly a post-manufacture chip that was glazed over. No biggie, was there from the people who made this guy. I don’t think he was used very much & certainly not abused at all. There’s no cookie grease inside, either. This is a very large, very tall, fantastic vintage 50’s jar. He’s a MUST for anyone’s collection! Flambro Emmett Kelly Jr. Clown Collector Cookie Jar
Flambo: THE Emmett Kelly Jr. CJ! VERY large jar in superb condition…..no chips, no cracks. I don’t see any crazing, either. The jar still has the original foil label on the underside. I’m not too sure it shows up well in the photo, however, be assured, it is there. Great details & earth-tone colors makes this a very highly sought after collector jar. There weren’t a lot of these jars made & the popularity of this jar is soaring. I believe it was made in the 1980’s. Among all the other Emmett Kelly Jr. Clown jars, this is by far one of the most popular. It belongs in YOUR collection! He’s waiting on you….see his pose? Sierra Vista Clown Bust Collector Cookie Jar
Sierra Vista (of California) Clown bust CJ. Smiling clown, happy clown! Beautiful, colorful jar. The only ouchies that I can see are shown in the photos….there’s a teenie bit of paint missing on his nose & there’s also either a very small flea bite on the edge of his hat or perhaps, that was a factory flaw where paint/glaze was missed. The aforementioned ouchies do not take anything away from this fine, vintage clown bust. Bottom is signed "Sierra Vista California USA". I tried to enhance that photo so you could see the signature.
