Collector Cookie Jars

Metlox: Penguin Collector Cookie Jar. There are two different styles of this jar that most aren’t aware of; the long coat and short coat. This is the Penguin with the long coat. No chips or cracks. I don’t think this jar was ever used. Shows no signs of cookie grease inside. Nice bright colors, clean jar. A mid-sixties product of Metlox from Poppytrail California. Nice jar! Great for the novice or advanced collector. Would make a nice Christmas gift too! Very nice, friendly looking jar! Metlox Frog Prince Collector Cookie Jar. If you like frogs, here he is! Kiss the frog and watch him turn into …. Cookies. Wearing a corsage, this fine prince of a jar is donning a tie & collar, Too! He’s in excellent condition, no chips or cracks. Nice, shiny, like-new finish. Crazing is hardly noticed. Bottom side is signed “Poppytrail” but its very difficult to see in the photo since it is not stamped deeply in the material. I’ve circled the area in the photo where the identification mark is. Great jar with a relatively high book price. Very cheerful, friendly jar! Metlox Raccoon Cookie Bandit Collector Cookie Jar. Really nice condition, no chips or cracks & the jar has great color. The foil label on the underside is all but gone, there is a very miniscule portion of it left, enough to let you know it was there. This jar is the bisque/matte finish, its not shiny. Many prefer the subdued finish rather than the shiny finish on this fine jar. Don’t know why they call him the “cookie bandit” since he’s holding what appears to be stolen apples! Nicely detailed, his mask strings go clearly around his head and fasten in a bow on the backside of his head. Very cheerful, friendly jar! Slenderella by  Metlox Collector Cookie Jar.  Nice condition for this comical jar, no chips or cracks. Reminds us of what we do the morning after the night before! Jar is impressed on the underside “Metlox Calif”. This was difficult to read on the underside so I attempted to enhance the photo to allow you to read the markings. Interesting, fun jar for any novice or advanced collector! Difficult to find in any condition, here she is ready for your “diet cookies”. Metlox Pescado Fish Collector Cookie Jar. Original, not a reproduction. Very hard to find, listed in some books as “rare”. This is one very colorful jar. I’ve had this jar many times and the colors on this one are about as brilliant as they can be! No chips, no cracks, no repairs. Signed on the bottom (see photo) “Pescado Metlox, Calif Pottery…” Very clean jar. If it was ever used, it was used quite gently. No stains or cookie grease. Highly sought after jar by both the beginners and the advanced collectors! I see them on E bay with a buy it now for between $300 – $400 and the book value on this jar is upwards of $400+. This is a must have to add to your collection at this very reasonable price!
