Los Angeles Pottery: Cookies All Over CJ. Super nice condition. No chips or cracks. This jar is a mirror image almost of the really popular NAPCO jar. This jar is very quickly going to the top of the collector’s list right along with the NAPCO jar. I think this was one of the most popular jars in the American household during the 50’s & 60’s. Pottery Guild Elsie The Cow ~Original~ Collector Cookie Jar. She’s in great condition, no chips or cracks, just a couple of minor factory glaze pops. Nice jar! Highly sought after in this condition. One person asked how I knew if this jar is an original. There’s a lot of criteria that you look for when determining if a jar is an original…quality, marks, coloring, size, etc. The original Elsie WAS made by Pottery Guild and they did not mark with the company mark. Most of the reproductions are marked as “McCoy” or some other company name … that is actually no longer belonging to the original company. This jar is the correct height, quality, color. And, after handling cookie jars for over 35 years, its second nature to know which is which and for those out there who have to rely on our honesty, we hope that you will. We’re not an internet auction site where the sellers run free & unchecked. We’re collectors too and this site was developed so that we might be able to help buyers find quality items such as this is for reasonable prices in a safe forum. Hull / Regal China Red Riding Hood Small Poppy Chain Floral Design Collector Cookie Jars
Hull Red Riding Hood Small Poppy Chain Flowers Collector Cookie Jar. The demand for these jars was so intense that Hull needed help to produce them. They turned to Regal China company, well known for their superior quality products. This jar is no less. It’s a very heavy, well-made jar with great coloring, no chips or cracks. This jar has the small poppy flowers in a chain along her skirt and the gold-leaf stars on her apron. There’s the usual crazing & I find one or two straight craze lines that at first I thought were hairline cracks, but they are not. I rub my fingernail over them and they are smooth being under glaze. Unlike many of these jars, this one retains the majority of the gold trim about her hood and other areas where it was originally applied. This jar in my opinion has superior color & quality overall. Signed on the bottom very faintly, so faint it won’t show in the photos but its there… “967 Hull Ware Little Red Riding Hood USA” Really nice jar & a difficult to find one esp in this condition. This jar has the open basket with the blue tea cloth over the cookies. This one will surely please any novice or advanced collector. Pumpkin Cookie Jar Maker Unknown with Extra Pieces from Collector Cookie Jar
Pumpkin Cookie Jar with MATCHING creamer, milk pitcher & tea pot! Maker unknown, but this is a beautiful set at a GREAT price for all four pieces!! We got this set together from an estate and decided it was not fair to break it up. This set is about 20 – 25 years old. I’ve had the jar a few times in the past. The pitcher has a small flake right near the pouring lip. This is the only piece that has any real “damage”. Its on the inside of the lip. I’ve circled the spot and put an arrow to it in one photo. Some of the other pieces have some very miniscule paint flakes missing that are barely noticed…in the photos they might show up as a “camera flash” but there aren’t many and these are not damage to the pottery material. This is a very attractive set. You get four pieces for the one purchase price or as the auctioneers say, “4 pieces for one money”. The cookie jar is quite large and very attractive. The entire set would be very attractive shown off on your countertop esp around Halloween time. This is a great fall decorator set for sure! There are a lot of photos that go with this set, so, be patient to allow them to load. Each piece is pictured. We might have to send an additional shipping fee bill for a few dollars extra since there are so many pieces with this set but I am sure it won’t be a lot more.
