McCoy Christmas Tree Collector Cookie Jar
McCoy Christmas Tree Collector Cookie Jar. Here it is, one of the most highly sought after collector cookie jars! The McCoy Christmas Tree, made in or about 1959. Still retains the majority of its cold-painted colors, too! No chips, no cracks or hairlines. Beautiful example of this jar! It almost appears that this jar was likely a shelf-sitter all of its life and maybe only came out for an annual appearance at Christmas time! Signed “McCoy USA” on the bottom. This jar also has an “interlocking lid” to help keep it in place, better. The lid and base have corresponding notches for this. See photos. Deep rich green color with some light spray of silver on the tips of the branches to give the appearance of “snow”. The baubles are highlighted in reds and yellows that are cold-painted along with the silver touch. A very beautiful, wonderful, well-made jar sought by novices and advanced collectors alike! Remember, this jar is cold painted, so… To clean these jars, we highly recommend that you purchase one of our cleaning cloths listed under the “HANDCRAFTED TEXTILES AND POTTERY LINK NEAR THE TOP OF THE HOME PAGE. Brush Elephant with Ice Cream Cone Collector Cookie Jar
Brush Elephant with Ice Cream Cone Collector Cookie Jar. Another beautiful, fun, vintage Brush cookie jar. This one has been a long time favorite out of the 50s with collectors for many years. Light crazing as to be expected but no chips, no cracks or other damage. This guy dons mauves and yellows, and stands out much better than the blue jars. The mauve jar is for the girls while the blue jar was meant to be in the boy’s room. Great item for a theme and part of the decor in baby’s room. YOu don’t need to spend a lot of money to decorate! The ice-cream cone makes a great handle to lift the lid, too! Really a very large, well-made, fun jar, a must for any collection! If you’ve never had this jar before, I assure you that you’ll be very impressed with the size and details when you do! Marked appropriately on the underside, “W8 USA”. Froggie Went a Courtin' Department 56 Collector Cookie Jar
Froggie Went A Courtin’ by Department 56 Collector Cookie Jar. Great jar at a fraction of the price of this little guy’s $600+ Sierra Vista cousin. This guy has the look for sure, almost identical to the SV jar, color, design, motif, etc. No chips, no cracks or hairlines, this jar is out of the box perfect. Unfortunately, we don’t have the original box. Made by Department 56, a trusted company for collectable jars, this guy is a must for any collection. Marked, actually incised on the underside of the base “Department 56″ with the original tags and other important id for the collectors! Great for those collecting frogs, too! McCoy Hamm's Bear Collector Cookie Jars
McCoy Hamm’s Bear Collector Cookie Jar. Made toward the end of the reign of the McCoy pottery empire, this wonderful jar remained damage-free all these years since the mid-70s. No chips, no cracks or hairlines. Some light crazing shows in spots but this is usual, typical and expected in these vintage jars. Friendly looking guy, isn’t he? Bottom is incised “148 USA”, I’ve circled the areas where the impressions are. They don’t show up well in the photo. This is a very large, heavy, well-made jar! A must for any collector and highly sought after esp in this condition! While he does have some cold-paint, he doesn’t appear to be at a loss for any particularly on his tie. Great jar, great price! Since this is a cold-painted jar, we highly recommend purchasing one of our hand-made soft cloths listed under the “HANDCRAFTED TEXTILES AND POTTERY LINK NEAR THE TOP OF THE HOME PAGE. They’re only $6.99 and crafted entirely by hand. These are soft cloths that will not scratch the surfaces esp for the cold painted jars. Red Wing Blue Chef Collector Cookie Jar
Red Wing Blue Chef Collector Cookie Jar. Here’s a neat jar for a fraction of the cost due to the fact that you’re buying him in “as is” condition. But not a whole lot of money for a really otherwise nice jar. What I can see that bothers this plump guy is a chip on his apron edge, hardly noticed since its on the underside of the apron, some darkened craze lines in the lid and some roughness around the base edge where the lid goes on due to loss of the glaze. Otherwise, he looks good, actually looks great and will display equally as well for you as seen in the photos. All areas as described are circled in the corresponding photos. He’s a heavy, original, solid jar without any apparent structural problems, in other words, I don’t see him falling apart on you due to the issues mentioned. I think he’ll be an inexpensive display item or a great gift. Incised on the underside as “Red Wing”. There is some slight evidence of cookie grese in the jar, too, noticed with the light brown tone throughout the jar. To clean these jars, we highly recommend that you purchase one of our cleaning cloths listed under the “HANDCRAFTED TEXTILES AND POTTERY LINK NEAR THE TOP OF THE HOME PAGE.
