Cookie Jars are now considered an art form. Collectors more and more are beginning to realize this universally. We all grew up with a cookie jar either in our own home or perhaps we remember the one Grandma had where she pulled out the tasty,  home-made treats when we, her grandkids, visited. One of our first sales when we launched this web site was to a girl who remembered a jar identicle to the one she purchased; it was always sitting on her granmother's washing machine when she visited. Always remember, cookie jars are a part of our baby-boomer heritage! The collecting population is always growing while the supply of the vintage jars is not!!! Here, we offer you a selection of original, vintage jars at the most reasonable prices that we can.  Why purchase a vintage cookie jar? These are not only investments, they are also memories of our childhood years!

McCoy (?) WC Fields Decanter from Collector Cookie Jars

WC Fields (McCoy?) Decanter “Go With” from Collector Cookie Jars. This is for the decanter only! The jar is present in the photo only for size comparison. Here’s a very difficult to find item and hardly known. It’s a WC Fields liquor decanter. Not sure of the maker, could be McCoy, but won’t swear to it. It does bear a striking resemblance to the jar however, is about 1/3 smaller than the jar being only about 8 ½ inches tall. No damage condition, no chips, no cracks, no hairlines. The only thing wrong with this little guy is that someone pushed the cork down inside the decanter. Its there, and if someone has the smarts how to remove it, its there to put back in the top. The hat band is in remarkable condition, too! Nice “go with” if you have the jar, too! A must have and also very difficult to find item, even more so than the jar! To clean these jars, we highly recommend that you purchase one of our cleaning cloths listed under the “HANDCRAFTED TEXTILES AND POTTERY LINK NEAR THE TOP OF THE HOME PAGE. They’re only $6.99 and crafted entirely by hand. These are soft cloths that will not scratch the surfaces esp for the cold painted jars. If purchased with a jar, there will be no additional shipping fees. If you are so charged for shipping this will be refunded to you if you have purchased one with one of our jars. There is a photo available of an example of these great cleaning cloths at that link mentioned within the site. American Bisque "ABC" Chalkboard Clown Collector Cookie Jar

American Bisque “ABC” Chalkboard Clown Collector Cookie Jar. Fun, friendly, colorful jar! On the front above his chalkboard it says “don’t forget” while on the back it says “try mom’s cookies”., making for a more interesting jar. Again, a “baby boomer” jar, a jar many of us grew up with during a time when mom cared enough to bake real cookies! No chips (or chocolate chips, either, but includes a smidgen of the cookie grease from mom’s chocolate chips in the bottom), no cracks, no hairlines or other damage. Jar is in superb condition with the exception of some minor paint loss as seen on his face. Chalkboard is very clean very well displaying that it likely was never used. “Magnet” intact in upper right corner of chalkboard. Bottom side is marked “Patent Pending USA”, very typical mark for this jar. Wonderful jar, fantastic condition! Part of a series of “chalkboard” jars made by ABC. If you have the other three, complete your collection with this great jar, or, if you don’t have any of them, start your series collection with him! There’s a girl, a boy, and hobo in addition to this clown.  Since this is a cold-painted jar, we highly recommend purchasing one of our hand-made soft cloths listed under the “HANDCRAFTED TEXTILES AND POTTERY LINK NEAR THE TOP OF THE HOME PAGE. They’re only $6.99 and crafted entirely by hand. These are soft cloths that will not scratch the surfaces esp for the cold painted jars. Red Wing Yellow Pineapple Collector Cookie Jar

Red Wing Yellow Pineapple Collector Cookie Jar. Brilliant yellow color just like a ripe pineapple and  in wonderful condition. No chips, cracks or hairlines. Incised on the underside “Red Wing”. This is the real thing, not a reproduction. This particular jar is a more difficult to find color for this style. This is really a very beautiful, very solid jar. Great kitchen display item! Very collectable among Red Wing & Cookie Jar collectors alike! A must for novice or seasoned collectors! To clean these jars, we highly recommend that you purchase one of our cleaning cloths listed under the “HANDCRAFTED TEXTILES AND POTTERY LINK NEAR THE TOP OF THE HOME PAGE. Robinson Ransbottom (AKA RRPCO) “Bud” WW2 Collector Cookie Jar

Robinson Ransbottom (AKA RRPCO) “Bud” WW2 Collector Cookie Jar. No chips, no cracks. This jar is dated on the underside 1943. Most of these jars are not dated but this one is! This is now not just a cookie jar but is also recognized as a WW2 collectable [jar]. Robinson Ransbottom made a few different styles of these jars to reflect the different divisions of our war service men. “Bud” is Army and has a couple of minor issues to report, all of which I believe were somehow related to manufacture flaws. First, he has an area on his left shoulder (right in the photo) where there’s a darkened area on the outside of the jar on his shoulder showing through from the inside. When you look at the inside, you can see what appears to be some paint that I believe was a manufacturer flaw during the make process. This is a very interesting, historical quirk helping to make this already unique jar even more unique. There are some irregular spots along the base rim that are most definitely from the manufacture process when they “trimmed” the pottery after coming out of the mold. Some of those trimmings are seen adhering to the inside bottom of the jar since they were fired in place stuck by the glaze. Besides the manufacture spots, there are a couple of spots where the paint is thinned from age and use but not badly. All this is visible in the photos and in spite of them, he is still a very nice jar. He’s in otherwise remarkable condition for the age and being a cold-painted jar. A very solid jar great for display in anyone’s collection. Since this is a cold-painted jar, we highly recommend purchasing one of our hand-made soft cloths listed under the “HANDCRAFTED TEXTILES AND POTTERY LINK NEAR THE TOP OF THE HOME PAGE. Indian Lady Maker Unknown Collector Cookie Jar

Maker Unknown, Indian Woman Collector Cookie Jar. No one has ever stepped up to the plate to claim fame for making this interesting and one of a kind jar. In most books that list this particular jar, they have it listed in the Black Americana section. So, I guess there is question as to actual ethnic background it was to represent. From the dress and slightly reddish colored dark skin tones, I would tend to agree that it was intended to be an Indian woman. She doesn’t have any chips or cracks, just a lot of lighter crazing and one dark craze line that is straight and about an inch long. It’s a smooth area to the touch, so, I would not classify it as a crack but just a darkened craze line in the glaze. This happens from dirt, cookie grease, etc, getting into these craze lines. It will not show up in a photo its so fine. There is some minor paint loss on the jar since it is cold-painted. The zig zag line going about the dress near the bottom is nearly 100% intact and there are a couple of missing paints areas on the face and hair as seen in the photos. This is to be expected with a vintage jar of this age and being cold-painted. She’s a very interesting jar and not much is known about her, but she is also a very difficult to find jar esp in this condition with the paint intact. Some books spike in value at between $250 – $400. She’s still an attractive and interesting jar just the same in her right.  Someone thought so or she wouldn’t be listed in the books.
