Brush Formal Pig Collector Cookie Jar. Hey! This is a nice find at a really good price for this particular jar! This portly little guy is highly sought after in any condition, however, this one is totally damage-free, no chips or cracks! Marked on the underside as “W7 USA”. There is some crazing that shows along with some light cookie grease inside the base, but, nothing offensive or detracting. This jar has class & so does this portly fellow…just look at the way he’s dressed! Nice color, nice detail & one of the finest jars of this style I’ve seen in a while. Maddux: Clown Collector Cookie Jar. Here he is! One of the hardest to find of the clown jars and one of the most colorful jars in his class! This jar is absolutely stunning with the bright colors. There are two versions of this jar, the under glaze & cold painted version. This one is the cold-painted version. No chips, no cracks or hairlines. Look carefully at some of the photos you will see some cold paint missing. Miraculously, his face paint has survived well. Overall, about 98% of the paint is intact. The base itself is under glaze, only the face, lid, and buttons on the base are cold paint. The lid is huge; the head of the clown extends about 10 inches into the air. I have always liked this jar; the smiling face, the fun feeling that you get looking at him. Generous jar for holding cookies. I tried to photograph the name but it kept coming out blurry; the jar is signed on the back near the bottom, “Maddux of Calif with the number 2102″. Beautiful jar and my absolute favorite clown jar. I feel proud to offer this one for sale! A must for any collection! Brush: Happy Clown Marked on the underside “W22 Brush USA”. This is NOT a reproduction but he IS one of the cleanest & most colorful examples of this particular jar that I have ever seen. Very nice, original, shiny finish. Great colors! Nice, clever details….look at the “stitched patch” on the rear of his pants! Very clean jar. No cookie grease. No chips, no cracks or hairlines. Base has a nice ring as it should when tapped. The jar does have a couple of factory flaws; there are some glaze pops noticeable in the photos on his pants. They appear as pin point lighter brown spots. Nothing terrible to report but we just want to mention them. There’s also a spot where the pottery shrank during the firing process and it appears as a crack on the rim of the lid. Its not a crack and is glazed over. I don’t think he was used very much & certainly not abused at all. This is a very large, very tall, fantastic vintage 50’s jar. He’s a MUST for anyone’s collection! A well cared for jar! Brayton Laguna Wedding Ring Granny Collector Cookie Jar c 1940s. Incised on the underside “Brayton Laguna Calif C” This is the real thing and one of the finest examples of this jar that I’ve ever seen! The colors are vivid & brilliant just as you see in the photos. I did have to enhance the one photo in order to show the Brayton signature. This is a very beautiful & also VERY heavy jar. The only thing I see with this jar is a few glaze pops that are nearly invisible in the color stripes of the dress. Otherwise, there are no after-market damages, no chips, no cracks or hairlines. Her wedding ring does not show up in the photos, its faint, but its there. She’s wearing a yellow/gold wedding band on her left hand. This jar has a real personality and a real presence. She will stand out in any collection no matter how many other jars are around her! When other collectors or your friends or family see this jar, they will know that you have arrived! This jar is VERY hard to find in any condition and even more difficult to find in this condition! Highly sought after by collectors on all levels, this is a fantastic jar and a fantastic price!
