Hull Red Riding Hood Small Poppy Chain Flowers Collector Cookie Jar.  The demand for these jars was so intense that Hull needed help to produce them. They turned to Regal China company, well known for their superior quality products. This jar is no less. It’s a very heavy, well-made jar with great coloring, no chips or cracks. This jar has the small poppy flowers in a chain along her skirt and the gold-leaf stars on her apron. There’s the usual crazing & I find one or two straight craze lines that at first I thought were hairline cracks, but they are not. I rub my fingernail over them and they are smooth being under glaze. Unlike many of these jars, this one retains the majority of the gold trim about her hood and other areas where it was originally applied. This jar in my opinion has superior color & quality overall. Signed on the bottom very faintly, so faint it won’t show in the photos but its there… “967 Hull Ware Little Red Riding Hood USA” Really nice jar & a difficult to find one esp in this condition.  This jar has the open basket with the blue tea cloth over the cookies. This one will surely please any novice or advanced collector. Little Red Riding Hood Collector Cookie Jar. Although the bottom is actually signed “Hullware” and “Little Red Riding Hood Pat Pending #967”, I am confident that this jar is a reproduction probably made in the mid to late 70’s. There aren’t any chips or cracks, however there is one small factory flaw as seen in the photo showing the underside of the lid…nothing that effects value or structure, it’s a glazed over separation in the pottery. The cape shows 2 or 3 spots that first appear to be wear in the paint but I believe that this too, is something that was a part of the manufacturer’s process in order to give it a used appearance. I believe the missing paint was done on purpose. These spots are quite small, maybe ¼ of an inch and hardly noticed. Overall, the jar really has a great look. The colors are strong and the jar does have a great “ring” when tapped. Interesting flip on the original Hull Red Riding Hood Jar. Overall, she stands about 11 ½ inches tall. Nice jar. I wouldn’t offer it if it wasn’t & if I didn’t think that you’d enjoy it! You decide the category to place it in your collection….Black Americana or Red Riding Hood! Hull / Regal China: Little Red Riding Hood. Open basket jar with a small collection of poppies on the lower right side of her dress. This jar has one small factory flaw as seen on her apron. It’s a simple dark line inside of what apparently was a glaze bubble that popped & they pushed the material back together after the bubble popped. Its under the glaze, so, is not damage. Beautiful jar, no chips or cracks, very clean. Signed on the bottom “Little Red Riding Hood, Pat. Des. No. 135880 USA”. This is not a reproduction jar. This is THE Red Riding Hood that is so highly collectable designed by Louise Bauer, marketed by Hull Pottery and manufactured by Regal China for Hull Pottery when their orders were more than they could fill. Napco: Little Red Riding Hood collector cookie jar. One of the most popular Red Riding Hood jars, this one is right on top in the collector’s list of must-have jars. No chips, no cracks. She bears the numbers on the underside; “K2292 Napco 1957 & JC” Still retains the best portion of the foil label, too! There are a couple of spots on the hood that originated with the manufacturer where the paint is a tad darker than the rest of the hood, like the airbrush shot a double dose of paint. Otherwise, this is one beautiful jar and a fine example to have in your collection. I’m betting this has been a shelf sitter all her life and has never been used; most likely remains a virgin!
