Collector Cookie Jars

Red Wing Bananas Collector Cookie Jars. Sort of a turquoise ~ green color, really nice collector cookie jar. The only matter I see to mention here is that the lid rim has two extremely fine “lines” that you can’t feel but must be under the glaze hairlines. They barely show in the photo. I’ve circled the 2 spots for you to see. They look like two brush hairs stuck in the material, to me, but consider that they are under glaze hairlines. Marked on the underside, very difficult to see impression in photo that says “Red Wing”. Otherwise, there are no other cracks or chips to this beautiful, highly collectable jar. I do like this jar better than McCoy’s version of the bananas. Difficult color to find at a real great price. Red Wing Blue Chef Collector Cookie Jar. Here’s a neat jar for a fraction of the cost due to the fact that you’re buying him in “as is” condition. But not a whole lot of money for a really otherwise nice jar.  What I can see that bothers this plump guy is a chip on his apron edge, hardly noticed since its on the underside of the apron, some darkened craze lines in the lid and some roughness around the base edge where the lid goes on due to loss of the glaze. Otherwise, he looks good, actually looks great and will display equally as well for you as seen in the photos. All areas as described are circled in the corresponding photos. He’s a heavy, original, solid jar without any apparent structural problems, in other words, I don’t see him falling apart on you due to the issues mentioned. I think he’ll be an inexpensive display item or a great gift. Incised on the underside as “Red Wing”. Red Wing Yellow Pineapple Collector Cookie Jar. Brilliant yellow color just like a ripe pineapple and  in wonderful condition. No chips, cracks or hairlines. Incised on the underside “Red Wing”. Red Wing: Nice Blue Chef  jar! No chips, no cracks or repairs. (the tan spots you see either on the base or the underside of the lid are the “stilt marks” where its held in the kiln during firing.) Red Wing: “Katrina” Dutch Girl Collector Cookie Jar. Blue Red Wing Dutch Girl CJ, super clean condition, no chips or cracks. Great example of this fine collector’s jar. I think she was probably a shelf sitter rather than being employed to hold cookies…she doesn’t have any cookie grease inside. Bottom is incised “Red Wing”. Blue tones are quite vivid and attractive.
