Robinson Ransbottom ~AKA~ RRPCO Jardiniere Set Collector Cookie Jars
RRPCO: Jardiniere set C 1930′s. Set consists of four graduated sizes of “nesting” jardinieres. One jardiniere has a small chip at the base, its the second one in on the left. I’ve put a pointing arrow to the spot in the photo. One is signed with the appropriate RRPCO signature. This is one reason why when these sets are often split up, particularly during an auction at the auctioneer’s discretion, that we lose out on knowing who made these pieces. Quite frequently, the manufacturer would only mark one piece since they were always sold as a set. Tiffany quite frequently conducted this practice with the shades on their lamps that had cluster lights. Only one shade was signed so that if the rest “got away” from the “nest” no one could truly identify them as being Tiffany shades other than they could say they were “Tiffany look-a-likes”.
All the other pots are in perfect, damage-free condition. Nice color. This is a heavy set. Each individual “pot” is quite heavy and well-made in its own right. This is a nice find to have all four jardinieres together as they were intended to be. Please click on the thumbnail to enlarge the photo for better detail.
