Shawnee Jo Jo the Clown Gold Trimmed Collector Cookie Jar. Here he is! The elusive and very difficult to find, Gold Trimmed Jo Jo the Clown. Singed on the bottom “Shawnee USA 12”. This jar is original & NOT a reproduction. The gold trim accents make Jo Jo & his colors truly stand out adding an elite touch to this already beautiful, very popular & highly sought after jar. No chips, no cracks, no hairlines and no visible crazing! Shawnee has always been highly collectable for its glaze that never seems to crackle / craze as most of the jars do. They had some special secret that keeps their jars looking like new forever! The ball on the seal’s nose is also intact! This is a very clean jar. I’m betting that it was never actually used but has been a shelf-sitter all of his life! Advanced collector or novice, this jar is a must for any collection! Shawnee: Little Chef Collector Cookie Jar. There are several different jar base colors, this is the white or egg shell colored. Cute little jar, more along the line of a biscuit jar rather than a cookie jar. Bottom is marked “USA” typically, as many of the Shawnee jars were. Sorry, it is not strongly obvious so that the photo of the underside did not pick up on it, but trust, it is there! Around the edge of the base rim are some minor irregularities that are under glaze, so, identifying these as something from the factory. No chips, no cracks. Nice clean, fun jar! Has images of little chefs about the outside along with “cookies” printed. Strong colors and a great glaze as Shawnee was known for their fantastic, nearly craze-free glaze! Shawnee Fruit Basket Collector Cookie Jar. Beautiful display of fruit…almost looks real. Great year-round table centerpiece without worrying about the fruit spoiling or being out of season! Wonderful rich colors. No-crazing glaze as Shawnee products are highly sought after for! No chips, no cracks. Just a really beautiful cookie jar or table centerpiece. Signed on the bottom “Shawnee”. This is the real thing, not a reproduction. This jar is the taller of the two….there’s a shorter version of this that is actually either a candy jar or a casserole with the same lid, just shorter. Shawnee: Everyone’s favorite & most likely a very popular jar remembered at grandma’s house! Puss n Boots is in superb condition. This one is the short tailed version. NO chips or cracks…….I don’t see any cookie grease inside the jar, either. I would dare say that either the jar had minimal or no use. Very light crazing if any at all. This is NOT a reproduction jar. Bottom is signed as “Patented Puss n Boots” etc, signature is somewhat difficult to see in the photo, but its there. I’ve circled the area where it is. Shawnee: This little guy really doesn’t need an introduction. He’s Jo Jo the clown! This guy is the real deal! The original ball is intact on the seal’s nose! That was a curse for these nice jars, the ball on the seal’s nose frequently broke off. Nice jar, very brilliant & colorful, no chips, no cracks or hairlines! While this one is not the gold-trimmed version, he’s still highly collectable & sought after by the novice as well as advanced collector! The jar is otherwise appropriately marked on the underside as “Shawnee USA 12” and in superb condition. Shawnee pottery was well known for their excellent glazes that rarely crazed and this little guy is no exception to that quality. Hardly if any craze lines.
