Hi, thank you for stopping buy! Offered here is an American Bisque Clown Flasher cookie jar. Marked on the back-side near the bottom is #805 USA. American Bisque rarely if ever actually stamped their name on the jars but rather numbered them and included USA with the numbers. Their signature triangular pad feet was also the way of identifying their jars. No other company used this design. There is some slight cold paint loss which is typical for a jar of this age but there aren’t any chips, cracks, hairlines or other damage. The flashers / eyes work perfectly and are quite clear and bright. These were also called “Vari Vue” or Pan Eye Matic jars. Some slight amount of cookie grease has also leached into the jar which allows the crazing to show more. But, its not highly noticed and not heavily laden with cookie grease. This is also a good indicator that this jar is authentic since this is not something that can be artificially duplicated. It happens from use over time. This is a nice jar! Very solid and very heavy. The jars of today are paper-thin and would break if you sneeze on them!
