“BUD” THE SOLDIER WW2 by ROBINSON RANSBOTTOM aka RRPCO COLLECTOR COOKIE JAR

Robinson Ransbottom (AKA RRPCO) “Bud” WW2 Collector Cookie Jar. No chips, no cracks, no hairlines or other visible damage. He also appears to have retained most if not all of his paint!  Most of these jars are not dated but some are, this one isn’t.  They were manufactured in 1943 during the height of WW2 to display patriotism. This is now not just a cookie jar but is also recognized as a WW2 collectable [jar]. Robinson Ransbottom made a few different styles of these jars to reflect the different divisions of our war service men. This one, “Bud”,  is Army.  There are some irregular spots along the base rim that are most definitely from the manufacture process when they “trimmed” the pottery after coming out of the mold, this is common as is paint that in a couple of spots appears to be “blobbed”. These were made fast and cheap.  He’s in otherwise remarkable condition for the age and being a cold-painted jar & inside looks very clean, like he was never used. This may have belonged to a patriotic American family that had someone in the service at that time. A very solid jar great for display in anyone’s jar collection or a cross over for those who collect WW2 memorabilia. Really a very nice, well preserved jar with rather vivid color for the age.
