F & F Mold & Die Works Aunt Jemima Collector Cookie Jar

F & F Mold & Die Works of Ohio: Aunt Jemima Plastic CJ. This jar originally was a premium that you got free when you sent in your postage fee to have the jar and a certain number of coupons you got this by mail free when mailing fees weren’t so outrageous as they have become.  Made for the Aunt Jemima products, this jar is all plastic, made in the mid to late 50’s. While most people call any black woman cookie jar “Aunt Jemima” this jar is the true Aunt Jemima CJ.  She does have some ouchies; her seams are loose a tad bit and there’s been a repair to her arm. See the photo.  The paint is worn, too, and she could use a light bath. The jar is basically very solid otherwise &  she shows off very well. I’ve seen these in terrible condition on E bay sell for well over $200 when you could sell Black Americana items on E bay. F & F made 2 different styles of this jar; same shape but the skin color waS different, the chocolate colored skin and the dark black skin. This one is a bit more difficult to find with the chocolate colored skin. 

Thanks to a few cranks, Aunt Jemima products no longer display Aunt Jemima on the packaging any more. They also gave away spice jars, salt / pepper sets consisting of Aunt Jemima & Uncle Mose, and a syrup dispenser. You can look for these on our site, too.
